Ryley Corcoran is a Professional Biologist specializing in restoration ecology, environmental monitoring, and aerial drone mapping. With a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Alberta and a Master’s in Restoration Ecology from Simon Fraser University and BCIT, he has been working across central and northern Alberta since 2019. His expertise includes wetland restoration, habitat assessments, and using drones to map environmental features such as forest boundaries and construction progress. His passion for environmental restoration was sparked during his graduate studies, where he gained hands-on experience bringing wetland restoration projects to life in the field.
Dedicated to ongoing learning, Ryley teaches environmental monitoring at Blue Quills University and stays current with industry best practices by attending workshops and seminars through the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists. As a drone pilot, he integrates advanced aerial imaging into environmental assessments, improving efficiency and accuracy in monitoring projects. He encourages aspiring professionals to gain hands-on experience, whether through volunteering, networking at conservation events, or pursuing specialized training programs to build a strong foundation in the environmental field.
